The SASC version of the fiscal 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), "requires the Department of Defense to address deficiencies in the electronic protection of defense systems," according to an executive summary.
The proposed bill includes provisions to appease some Republican lawmakers' social concerns, and jumps in the fight for A-10 retirements, an amphibious fleet and other sometimes controversial Pentagon programs.
The draft National Space Authorization Act would also push Space Force on integrating commercial data and on over-classification of space programs.
In addition, the subcommittee's markup of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would add 800 Guardians to the Space Force's active duty end-strength, as requested by the service — including establishing a dedicated Space Force legislative liaison.
